Let's Talk Cars - Used - 80s Alfa GTV6

As big Alfa saloons go the Six was not a huge success, but we do owe the
existence of one of the best-sounding Alfa Romeos to the failed executive saloon as it donated its wonderful V6 engine to the Alfetta GTV. Running a new Bosch
fuel injection system, the V6’s power was up to 160bhp, giving the GTV6 a very
useful power hike, as well as one of the most sublime soundtracks in motoring
history. Like the Alfetta GT and GTV before it, a good GTV6 was a phenomenally
good car in the bends and Alfa’s coupé finally had the power to exploit it. Buying one today means trusting in the fact that the previous owner has taken the trouble to maintain it properly and the body is void of major rust.

Totally void of rust is impossible as these old Alfas never came with proper anti rust and over the years most never found good homes or proper care. They still however look so sexy and desirable. Prices can be as low as RM16,000 and as high as RM40,000 for a showroom stunner. Buy with care as you could end up paying thru your nose in repairs and body maintenance.
