Penang
 Traffic is slow moving due to rainfall from Jalan Masjid Negeri, Jalan Tengku Kudi and the Jelutong Expressway heading towards the Penang Bridge. While from the Mainland heading towards the Island its at a crawl from the Permatang Pauh turnoff.

 Officials confirm that there are no reports of any major crawls on the Penang Bridge via Udini and Bayan Lepas, however traffic is slow moving at the Toll Plaza.

 KL - Seremban Highway: Traffic is slow moving after the Sg. Besi Toll Plaza heading towards the City Center.

 LDP: Traffic is at a crawl from Puchong Jaya - Cable Bridge, the Kelana Jaya LRT station - Taman Megah & from Bandar Utama - TTDI.

 SPRINT: Traffic is looking heavy from Kayu Ara - Section 17 and from Jalan Maarof - Jalan Duta.

 Federal Highway: Traffic is at a crawl from Mid Valley - Kerinchi and after the Batu 3 Toll Plaza - Subang.

 Kajang Silk Highway: Traffic is slow moving from Sg. Ramal - Bandar Baru Bangi intersection, UNITEN - Putrajay and from Mines - Besraya Highway.

 MRR2: Traffic is at a crawl from Taman Kencana - Taman Maluri

 In KL, ITIS is heavy but moving along most major roads heading in and around the City Center.
Other Areas
 Yan, Kedah: Police would like to warn you that heavy rainfall in Yan, Kedah has caused floodings in several regions which have made these areas inaccessible to traffic:
o Kg. Teroi Bukit, Kg. Titi Teras, Pekan Teroi, and Kg. Sg. Lentang.
Police have advised not to head to these areas and metrological services confirm that the northern region of the Peninsula will continue to encounter heavy rainfall over the next couple of days.. so pls plan your travels well.

ROAD DIVERSIONS


There will be a temporary road diversion for 2 weeks (effective 22nd August 2008 till 5th September 2008, along the SPRINT Highway to facilitate beam launching works at the Damansara Link between KM1.5 and KM2.3. This road diversion will be activated in both directions, DAILY, between midnight & 5.30am. Users of the LDP, SPRINT and the NKVE coming from Puchong, Sg Buloh, Kepong, Bandar Utama, Kg Kayu Ara, SS2, Section 17 and also from the city centre, you will be diverted to the Taman Tun interchange.

After the toll plaza, take the flyover up to the Taman Tun Interchange on LDP. From there follow the directional signages to head towards Puchong and NKVE.

Sg. Buloh/Kepong

Pusat Bandar / KL

Head towards the Taman Tun Interchange on LDP , turn left and head towards KL on Sprint Highway.

NKVE/ Kayu Ara

Pusat Bandar / KL

Take the left turn at Damansara Utama Interchange towards the Taman Tun Interchange on the LDP. Then take the right turn to KL on Sprint Highway

LDP SS2 /Puchong

Pusat Bandar / KL

Use the Damansara Utama underpass to TTDI Interchange on LDP and turn  right to KL on Sprint highway

 

Section 17

NKVE/Kayu Ara/ SS2/Puchong/Sg. Buloh & Kepong

 

Use Jalan 17/21 and make a turn into Jalan 17/22.  Follow the directional signboards leading to Taman Tun Interchange before heading for Puchong and Kayu Ara.



 


ANNOUNCEMENT -
HEAVY VEHICLES RESTRICTION ON PENANG BRIDGE

 

  • Please take note that effective 15th August; certain heavy vehicles and slow moving vehicles will be banned from using the Penang Bridge daily, during certain hours of the day.  
  • All heavy vehicles except busses will not be permitted on the Bridge between 6.30am till 8.30am and also between 5pm and 7pm. 
  • All slow moving vehicles such as Tractors, Cranes, Low loaders, 3 wheelers, Forklifts, Backhoes, Excavators and Steamrollers will not be allowed on the Penang Bridge from 6am till Midnight.
